🌹 A Romantic Recommendation — Mayflower, Algarve Marina

Looking for somewhere with a beautiful marina setting and a relaxed atmosphere? Mayflower is a lovely, spacious restaurant with an outside terrace where you can enjoy your meal overlooking the marina. 🌊⛵

🐟 THE FOOD

The dorada was incredibly fresh — so fresh that it felt like it must have been swimming in the ocean the night before and landed on my plate the next day! 🤪🐟

The vegetables were fresh too, although I felt they could have been steamed just a little longer.

🥂 A LITTLE SPARKLE

I enjoyed a lovely Italian sparkling wine with the dorada. Crisp, refreshing and a very good match for the fish.

Although I did have to refill my own glass! 😂 I noticed the waiter refilling the table opposite me, so perhaps they didn't think it was necessary because I was dining alone. 🤣

Of course, if they'd known I was reviewing the restaurant, I'm sure I'd have had plenty of attention! 😉

✨ THE ATMOSPHERE

The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, but I felt it was missing a little ambiance. Some soft background music would make a big difference and create a warmer, more romantic atmosphere.

🍎 DESSERT

I finished with an apple crumble and vanilla ice cream. Nicely presented and a lovely finish to the meal — light enough not to feel too heavy.

⭐ OUR EXPLORER'S THOUGHT

A beautiful marina location, very fresh fish, good wine and a pleasant dining experience. With just a little more attention to the vegetables and some background music to lift the atmosphere, this could become an even more enjoyable experience.

📍 Near the Fish Market, Quarteira, Algarve
If you’re looking for a really good meal in Quarteira, Rosa Branca is definitely a place I’m happy to recommend. 🇵🇹
I’ve eaten here a few times, and one of my favourites is their Surf & Turf — and honestly, it’s absolutely scrumptious! 🥩🦐
The combination of the perfectly cooked meat with the seafood makes for a fantastic plate, full of flavour and very satisfying. It’s one of those dishes that keeps you coming back for more — and I have! 😋
The service has always been good on my visits, which makes the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.
⭐ My verdict: Definitely worth trying if you’re in Quarteira and looking for a good meal near the fish market.
