Algarve Food Explorers Gathering at The Yard, Vale do Lobo

Bringing our community together over good food and friendship.

On Sunday, 18 October, Algarve Food Explorers brought members together at The Yard in Vale do Lobo for our first community gathering. With 16 Explorers joining us, it was a wonderful opportunity to meet in person, share conversations, and bring our growing online community to life.

Despite some unexpected rain, we were able to gather under the covered area and enjoy time together. There were plenty of friendly faces, conversations, and moments that reminded us why we started this community in the first place: to discover food, share experiences, and connect people through a common interest.

As with any first event, there were also a few challenges. Service was slower than we had hoped, and some aspects of the arrangements could have been clearer. These were useful lessons for us as organisers, and feedback from our members will help us make future gatherings even better.

Ultimately, the highlight was seeing our Food Explorers come together, enjoy each other's company, and help turn an online community into real-life friendships.

Our takeaway: Every gathering is an opportunity to learn, improve, and grow together. This was our first step, and we look forward to many more Food Explorers experiences across the Algarve.
