Oscar’s Bar, Vilasol – A Lovely Breakfast and a Morning of New Connections

Sometimes, a good breakfast becomes part of something much bigger, and my visit to Oscar’s Bar in Vilasol was one of those mornings.

I was invited by Alan to join a meeting of the Dads’ Group, and I’d like to start by saying a big thank you to him for the invitation. There were approximately 20 of us gathered together, sharing business ideas, discussing our ventures, exchanging experiences and, most importantly, building new friendships and meaningful relationships.

It was a fantastic opportunity to introduce and share Algarve Food Explorers with the group, and I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction, the conversations and the positive atmosphere. I look forward to attending more of these get-togethers in the future.

The Breakfast Experience

Of course, being a Food Explorer, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to explore the breakfast menu!

I opted for the small English breakfast at €9.50, which was a satisfying start to the day. It included a pork sausage, bacon, fried tomato, baked beans, bread and a hash brown. Everything came together nicely, and I enjoyed the meal alongside a coffee.

For those with a bigger appetite, full English breakfast options are also available at a higher price point. My smaller portion was just right for me, and the breakfast was enjoyable.

The atmosphere was lovely, too. With the business meeting in full swing, there was plenty of conversation, interaction and positive energy around the table.

And in the excitement of the morning, I managed to do something rather human — I left without paying for my breakfast! Thankfully, I realised what had happened, returned to meet Alan and settled the bill. Everyone was still smiling, and we could laugh about it. After all, we're human, and sometimes these things happen!

A New Chapter for Oscar’s

Oscar’s Bar is now entering an exciting new chapter, having been taken over by the owners of Bloom and Rare Restaurant. With new management comes the possibility of fresh ideas, changes and new experiences for customers.

I have visited Oscar’s a few times under the previous management and enjoyed meals there in the past. This visit gave me the opportunity to experience breakfast as the new team begins its journey.

I look forward to returning once the new management is fully established, exploring more of the menu and seeing what changes lie ahead.

Our Food Explorers Verdict

A pleasant breakfast, a welcoming atmosphere and a morning filled with worthwhile conversations and new connections. My visit was about more than just food — it was about community, business, friendship and the opportunities that come when people get together.

Thank you again to Alan for the invitation. It was a pleasure to be part of the group, and I look forward to the next meeting.

Oscar’s Bar is one to revisit as its new chapter unfolds. We’ll be keeping an eye on what’s happening here and look forward to exploring more of its breakfast and brunch offerings.
