TANDOORI FLAME – A WONDERFUL INDIAN DINING EXPERIENCE

Some restaurant visits are simply about enjoying a meal, while others deliver an experience worth sharing. Tonight at Tandoori Flame was definitely one of those experiences!

From the delicious food to the welcoming atmosphere, Indian music and beautiful ocean-side setting, it was a wonderful evening and another restaurant discovery worth sharing with our Algarve Food Explorers community.

🥘 STARTERS – A TASTE OF INDIA

We started with traditional Indian poppadoms, accompanied by three delicious dipping sauces.

The selection included:

- Sweet mango chutney: A lovely sweetness that complements the poppadoms beautifully.
- Mint sauce: Fresh, cooling and wonderfully refreshing, leaving a lovely taste on the palate.
- Spicy onion sauce: A delicious combination of onions and spices for those who enjoy a little extra kick.

Each sauce brings its own character and flavour, making the combination absolutely delicious.

A lovely way to begin the evening and prepare the taste buds for what was to follow!

🍛 MAIN COURSE – LAMB BALTI WITH BASMATI RICE

For my main course, I chose the Lamb Balti, served with basmati rice, priced at €13.90.

And what an absolutely fantastic dish!

The Lamb Balti arrives beautifully presented in a little copper pot, which also helps retain the heat and keeps the lamb lovely and warm throughout the meal.

The basmati rice was cooked to perfection, while the lamb itself was incredibly tender and succulent.

The meat practically melts in your mouth like butter, with wonderful flavour throughout. The presentation is excellent, and the combination of the tender lamb and perfectly cooked rice makes this a truly satisfying meal.

Another lovely feature is that you can choose your preferred level of spice. Whether you enjoy a mild, medium or hot curry, the kitchen can prepare the dish according to your personal preference.

So there's something to suit everyone, whether you prefer a gentle curry or something with a little more fire!

At just €13.90, this is genuinely excellent value for money.

I honestly couldn't find a single thing to criticise about this dish. It was outstanding!

🍨 DESSERT – ROMANTICA ICE CREAM

Of course, no lovely meal is complete without something sweet to finish!

For dessert, I enjoyed a Romantica ice cream cake, layered with creamy vanilla and caramel, topped with a crispy chocolate coating.

The combination is delicious. You get the rich, smooth creaminess of the ice cream followed by that wonderful crunch of chocolate with every bite.

I'd describe it as a truly romantic dessert!

It's indulgent, creamy and offers the perfect contrast of textures, making it a wonderful way to round off an enjoyable Indian meal.

Definitely worth leaving a little room for dessert!

🌊 ATMOSPHERE, AMBIANCE & SETTING

Food is important, but the overall dining experience is about so much more.

Tandoori Flame offers a lovely atmosphere, with Indian music playing in the background, adding to the authentic feel of the restaurant.

As the evening progressed, more guests arrived and the restaurant gradually came alive with conversation, activity and a wonderful dining atmosphere.

The ocean right beside the restaurant adds something particularly special to the setting. It's lovely to enjoy your meal with the sea just a stone's throw away.

And as we move into the cooler winter months, the large gas heater provides welcome warmth, allowing guests to continue enjoying the surroundings comfortably.

It's a wonderful combination of good food, music, welcoming surroundings and a beautiful seaside location.

⭐ OUR ALGARVE FOOD EXPLORERS VERDICT

Tandoori Flame is certainly a restaurant worth adding to our growing restaurant library.

What stood out for me was the quality of the food, the tenderness of the lamb, the presentation, the choice of spice levels and, importantly, the very reasonable prices.

The Lamb Balti at €13.90 is particularly impressive value.

From the delicious poppadoms and dipping sauces to the outstanding main course and the Romantica dessert, the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable.

Whether you're a lover of traditional Indian cuisine or simply looking to try somewhere different, Tandoori Flame is well worth considering.

Our recommendation: A wonderful Indian dining experience delivering on flavour, atmosphere, setting and value for money.

I would happily recommend giving Tandoori Flame a visit. It's certainly one to put on your list when exploring the Algarve!
